Years ago, Clint Eastwood made a movie called “Bronco Billy” that I enjoyed watching. My close friends and family have a habit of getting obscure movie lines stuck in our heads, and have a tendency to use these lines as a sort of inner circle code to express moods and emotions.
One such line from “Bronco Billy” was spoken by Hank Worden’s character, the old man working as a gas station attendant who was speaking to the character played by Sondra Locke who wanted to use the telephone. No matter how important the Locke’s character tried to make her business sound, to get a free phone call, the old man simply said, “Works on dimes.”
When people ask if they can use the images from this site for free, I feel just like the old man in the gas station — “Works on dimes.” That’s why we welcome your interest in the work we have posted here, as well as your patronage in purchasing the images you want to own. If you want a way to get images for free, here is something you might try. Send in your photo, and let us make you a beautifully matted image for $3. When you get your treasure, sell a copy to a friend or customer for $3 and tell them what a deal they are getting for such a high quality, beautiful image. One sale, and you recover your cost; two sales and you make a profit.
