In a recent get together between my grandson and my neighbor’s child, I put the boys to work as a team competing against me in a friendly game we made up rules for as we went along, always adjusting in the boys’ favor. As the competition progressed, the enthusiasm for the game swelled, and my granddaughter added color by becoming the event announcer and keeping score on a white board. When the volume started getting a bit high, I pronounced that our game should be announced a bit more like a round of golf. When the boys soundly defeated me by a wide margin, there were lots of congratulations and some follow up interviews to gather the thoughts of the team members and what they would remember most about their victory. Of course, such a monumental moment in the imagination could not be complete without a trophy for the winning team, so I put this image together for them to remember their triumph against all odds and a superior opponent. The boys were pleased with their spoils.
