In a recent conversation with an artistic acquaintance, our discussion came around to the work I offer.  He said that as an artist, he was the kind of guy that liked to use a one inch matte in a three inch frame.  Though he is a digital photographer himself, he expressed some concerns for using digital mattes for his pictures, and it would take some sales for him to consider using digital matting techniques.  Well, the sales pitch can be found here at http://digitalphotoframetemplates.biz/top-12-reasons-to-use-matting-services/ and as for using digital mattes on pictures, you have nothing to lose there either.  Just keep the original photos as they are, and use the matted copies where they are appropriate.  Not all matted photos are hanging on walls!  They can come in handy for web site posts, and use in other ways that go beyond a simple physically matted photo.    For today’s post, I have included a piece using a simple matting technique that would work well for a printed 8X10 frame copy of the photo.  Simple mattes let the picture speak for itself with minimal accentuation.   Enjoy.
